Tee time at Pleasantries

In need of some support in caring for your elderly parents while you are at work?  I can’t think of an environment more caring and warm than the one at Pleasantries.  Located in a remodeled ranch home at 195 Reservoir Street in Marlborough (approximately a mile from 290), Pleasantries provides a compassionate, fun and social place for guests with early Alzheimer’s disease, mild physical ailments or memory impairments.  Guests enjoy pond-side outings, gardening, arts and crafts, home cooked breakfasts and lunches and physical activities designed to improve or maintain mobility. Open weekdays from 7:00am to 6:00pm depending on the needs of the client.  The full day option consists of 8 hours and the half day consists of 4 hours.  The family has the option of extended day as well.

While Alzheimer’s and dementia have no cure, owner Tammy Pozerycki said that people can delay the worst stages by staying engaged with the world. “Our goal here,” she said, “is to hold onto them as long as possible.”

Pleasantries also provides an Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Support Group, open and free to the community, held the second Monday of each month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm located in Marlborough.  Initial telephone screening is required.

Pleasantries will be sponsoring a walking team at the September 13th, Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk in Worcester at 128 Providence Street.  Consider walking  “Walk with us toward a world without Alzheimer’s disease!”  or donating Link

For information on the Services, Walk and Support group, Please call Tammy Pozerycki at 508-335-1968 to inquire. Link pleasantries2
