Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science projects due October 15th, 2009.
These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Northborough–including exhibits, festivals, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.
The Northborough Cultural Council is part of a grass-roots network of 329 local councils that serve every city and town in the state. The program is the largest, most decentralized one of its kind in the United States. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which then allocates funds to each local council. This year, the Northborough Cultural Council will distribute about $5,000 in grants.
Application forms and more information about the Local Cultural Council Program are available on the web at www.mass-culture.org. (Click on “find your local LCC” and choose Northborough).
Printed copies of the application are available at Town Hall, Northborough Public Library and the Northborough Senior Center.
Please note that the local council funds are not intended to be used as the sole source of funding for projects of a continuing nature.
Grant applications must be postmarked by October 15, 2009 and returned to: Northborough Cultural Council, Northborough Town Hall, 63 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532
