The next community dance is Saturday November 21st at 8pm in the Unitarian Universalist Parish Hall, (40 Church St, Northborough) and will feature live traditional music by Matching Orange and caller Tim Van Egmond. No experience is necessary as all dances are “walked through” by the caller. There is no need to bring a partner, as it is customary to ask a new partner for each dance. Contra Dancing is a New England tradition in which dancers form a “set” of long lines and progressively move up and down the set, interacting with all other dancers along the way.
Bring a pair of comfortable soft-soled shoes. Admission is $8.00 adults, $6.00 students and $18.00 family, and includes home baked refreshments at the break. For more information, visit http://northborocontra.com or phone Gary Phillips on 508-393-5490.
