The plaque to honor Korean War POW Cpl. Edwin L. Mitchell was dedicated today on the corner of Main and Brigham Streets, just outside of the Purple Rose. Mitchell had joined the K Co., 38th Inf. Regt, 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He was taken prisoner while fighting the enemy near Kunu Ri, North Korea on November 29, 1950.
