A group of staff, students, and administrators will gather at the Fire Headquarters in Hudson on Thursday, December 10th, to give a short presentation and discuss admission criteria for Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. “We know that there are those 7th and 8th grade students who have not had an opportunity to tour our facility, or to learn why our technical programs add value to the whole high school experience, so we’ve decided to take the show on the road,” explained Cindy Zomar, Admissions Coordinator for the school. According to Zomar, Assabet offers a full complement of Honors and Advanced Placement courses, has soaring MCAS scores, and meets all the state curriculum guidelines on the academic side, but also trains students in one of eighteen different technical areas. “Using state of the art equipment, software, and curriculum, our students become immediately employable at a skilled level, which is certainly helpful for those college bills. Additionally, the 21st century skills in high demand for future learning and employment, like problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and strong communication skills, are ingrained in the students on a daily basis,” continued Zomar.
Local families are invited to attend the session for free, from 7 PM to 8 PM, at the Hudson Fire Headquarters building at 296 Cox Street. For further information, contact the Admissions office at Assabet at 508-485-9430, ext. 1250, or email Zomar at lzomar@assabet.org.
