In a letter dated today (12/14), National Grid has requested the withdrawal of their special permit request to erect a tower at 55 Bearfoot Road.
Update:
Per Kathy Joubert, Town Planner, the withdrawal was “without prejudice” which is “standard language when an applicant requests to withdraw their application and it means they can refile the application in the future if necessary.”
Neighbors were cautiously optimistic about the withdrawal. Abutter Tom Blasko maintains that the peer review put on hold would have proven space availability on the existing tower, thus the new tower would fall outside of the town bylaws.
Hearings on this permit have been on going since early August, most recent months hearings had been cancelled due to National Grid exploring options to provide a new proposal . Link to August posting
