H1N1 Clinics for Northborough Residents Only

The Health Department is planning H1N1 clinics for the following target populations.

Northborough residents who are:

  • pregnant,
  • household contacts of children 6 months or younger,
  • household contacts of pregnant women in their third trimester,
  • all healthcare personnel (also including Dentists),
  • children age 6 months – 18 years
  • adults age 19-64 with chronic health conditions that include:

§   pulmonary conditions (including asthma)

§   cardiovascular conditions (except hypertension),

§   renal, hepatic, cognitive, hematologic, neurological/neuromuscular, or metabolic disorders (including diabetes)

§   and immunosuppression conditions (including that caused by medication or by HIV)

If you fall into any of the above categories and are interested, please register below.  (Please note that the appointment registry will be monitored to assure compliance with the above Massachusetts Department of Public Health allowable target populations).

Children 17 years or younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Any child who shows up without a parent or guardian will NOT be vaccinated.

NOTE: Children 9 years and younger do need to receive a second dose a minimum of 28 days from their first dose.  For BOH records if you are signing your child up for his/her second dose you must include the date of the first dose.

Both live attenuated nasal spray and inject-able IM vaccine (the shot) available.  The VIS, Vaccine Information Sheets, are available on the Health Department web page.  (Click here to link to Health Department page).

NASAL SPRAY ELIGIBILITY – Please note that the nasal spray is the Live Attenuated Vaccine and can therefore only be given to healthy persons age 2-49 years who do not have any of the following conditions: pregnant women, anyone who has heart disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney or liver disease, metabolic disease (diabetes), anemia or other blood disorders, anyone with muscle or nerve disorders, children on long-term aspiring treatment or anyone who has close contact with someone who is severely weakened immune system.
