The Melican Middle School Annual Jazz Night will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10th at 7:00 pm. Tickets, which cost $8, are available at the door.
The sounds of folk, rock, and metal music permeated the air at the Algonquin Regional High School auditorium two weeks ago. Fifteen bands, each having written and performed an original score, fervently hoped they would be chosen to compete in the Battle of the Bands. Seven bands–The Quest, Nate Lowell, Off Hand, Moose Crossing, Third Man Factor, Tactical Time Bomb, and Cool Beanz—got their wish. On February 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium, they will play once again to find out who is “best”. Emceed by Mrs. Aimee Selby, the program will also include a performance by Griffon, the progressive rock band of Berklee College graduate and 2003 Algonquin alumnus, Brian Dollaway. Dollaway will also serve as a judge along with Algonquin faculty members, Amy Collins, Eric Vincent, and Shawn Staines. The public is invited. Admission to the event costs $5.
So excited to attend tomorrow night. Great that Algonquin has this to support all the talented musicians and allowing them to showcase their own styles….
