The Fire Department recently received delivery of their new ladder truck. The truck cost approximately $1M, though with mitigation funding from the Loop and Avalon Bay developers, actual costs to the town were cut in half. The truck ladder has a bucket and a reach of 114′, which provide more safety in fire fighting as fire fighter will be able to battle a blaze from a greater distance. The squad will be training on the new ladder truck and they expect to integrate it into use in a month.
