Notes from April 11th’s meeting:
Town Warrant Books are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office, Library, and on the Town website. Town Budget Books are available for viewing at Town Clerk’s office, Library, and Town Administator’s office. (FY2011 Town Budget is planned at a 1.6% increase over FY2010.)
Bistro Limoncello was approved for outdoor seating (coming soon).
Police Chief Mark Leahy recognized Melican Student Elizabeth Cuomo for her good citizenship in returning a wallet of a fellow student.
Virginia Simms George Chairwoman of the Community Affairs Committee requested volunteers for the 25th Annual Town Clean up on the last weekend of April. She noted that last year’s event had 125 volunteers and said she would love to have the same or better turn out this year.
The Celtic Tavern liquor license hearing was continued with a report from the owners of their business and management plan, as well as the application to transfer the liquor license to their current manager. The attorney for KLRR gave an apology on behalf of the owners for the delay in the liquor license transfer and accepted the 3 day suspension penalty and verbally waived KLRR’s right to ABC appeal . John Campbell, Chairman of the Community Preservation Committee detailed the warrant articles up for Town Meeting vote which will be funded by CPA funds. See prior post for project list.
June Hubbard-Ward Treasurer/Collector came before the board to gain approval for temporary bonds. She noted that the bond rating received for MIG (Municipal Institution Grade) was superior and the longer term bonds were graded AA, indicating the favorable opinion of the financial stability of town finances by the rating agency.
William (Bill) Farnsworth covered the zoning amendments proposed for Town Meeting.
Selectwoman Fran Bakstan gave the update on the PAYT program, saying 3 bids had been received and are under evaluation for changes in the trash program next year.
