In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 2, Section 6A(e3/4), which states “On the death of a former member of the general court, the flag of the commonwealth shall be flown at half-staff from the day of death until sunset of the day of interment in accordance with such orders or instructions as may be issued by or at the direction of the governor after consultation with the speaker of the house of representatives on the death of a former representative in the general court ….”
Please be advised that Governor Patrick has ordered that the United States and Commonwealth flags be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on Friday, June 4, 2010 at all state buildings in honor of former Member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Ralph E. Sirianni of Winthrop, who died Monday, May 31, 2010.
