Amidst booming thunder and stifling heat on Sunday, June 6th, students sat together for the last time and turned their tassels, which marked the end of high school and the beginning of a new chapter. Around 360* graduates of Algonquin Regional High School listened to their classmates perform music, such as Green Day’s “Time of Your Life,” to history teacher John Barry’s speech where he advised, “Be good at things that can’t be measured,” to addresses by Salutatorian Emily L, selected speaker William C and Valedictorian Brendan L and to the final closing words of principal Tom Mead.  Senior Class President Carro H. remarked on the past four years the students have had together and reminded everyone to keep laughing.  Towards the end, the emotion was high as most soon-to-be college freshmen sang the T-Hawk chant one final time as a united class. Even though millions of high school seniors graduate each year, it is still is a special ceremony that congratulates each student’s achievement and opens the doors for them to enter the world.

* 97% of them are going to continue their education in public and private colleges and universities according to Algonquin Harbinger senior issue.
Congratulations s Class of 2010!!
