Worcester Children's Chorus

The Worcester Children’s Chorus is pleased to announce that August audition dates have been added for young singers interested in the 2010-2011 season. The artistic directors have received an overwhelming response and have scheduled a number of new audition dates.

Singers (ages 8-18) are selected by audition and pay a modest tuition to participate. Scholarships have also been offered to families on a financial needs basis. The chorus resides on the campus of Assumption College. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M and are directed by Jennifer Kane and Philip Montgomery. Singers come from Northborough and other communities in the Worcester area.

In prior seasons, the chorus has performed in seasonal concerts as well as at the Boars Head Festival, Worcester Art Museum, H’Arts and Hope for Haiti at the Hanover Theatre, and at many other venues during its two year history.

The upcoming season will be marked by the addition of two new levels of choir as well as wonderful opportunities to sing with other Massachusetts choruses (both children’s and adult) and to perform a specially commissioned choral piece.

The mission of the Worcester Children’s Chorus is to enrich the lives of children throughout Worcester County by providing a quality musical experience through training in choral singing. Membership offers professional-level instruction in vocal technique, music theory, sight singing, ear training, and presentation as well as exposure to a variety of choral styles. Involvement also enhances young people’s lives, helping them to develop qualities of self-reliance, personal integrity, responsibility, compassion, and confidence in their abilities.
