The next information session for the Assabet Valley Post Graduate Technical Training program will be held on Tuesday, September 7th at 9 AM. The session will be held in the Lecture Hall at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, 215 Fitchburg Street, Marlborough.
All applicants must attend an information session prior to applying. Serious applicants will bring proof of high school diploma or GED, their current medical records indicating two doses of MMR vaccine and a recent tetanus shot, and be prepared for a personal interview with Cindy Zomar, program coordinator. Interested parties should also bring a drivers’ license or photo ID, as a CORI background check will be done. Once accepted into a program, the Hepatitis B Series of shots will be required.
At this point, Automotive Technology, Electrical Wiring and HVAC-R (heating and refrigeration) are already full, but many other programs are still available for the 2010-2011 school year. If all material is turned in at the information session, and applicants have a chance to interview with Ms. Zomar, an exploratory session could be set up for the rest of the week (Sept. 8th – 10th).
Once the exploratory three days are finished, if both the applicant and the program teacher are in agreement, full time instruction would begin the next week, working toward the 1,000 hour requirement.
Reservations are not required for the Information Session. For more details on cost, etc., check the Assabet Valley website, www.assabettech.com, under the Post Graduate tab. To read more about the actual technical programs, go to the Technical Programs tab, and click on the programs one by one for information about curriculum, etc.
